Overview

The salary for this position is $5,546.67 per month and is non-negotiable.
The Healthy Early Years (HEY) clinic is a nonprofit training facility that offers low-cost family, couples, and child therapy. HEY is a counselor training facility operated by the Center for Excellence in Early Development (CEED) and San Diego State University, Department of Child and Family Development.
Under direction of the Consultation Coordinator, the Consultation Lead will engage in the implementation and evaluation of all three levels of CEED’s early childhood mental health consultation (ECMHC) services. The consultation lead will act both as a consultant providing direct consultation services to participants as well as acting in an administrative capacity as an in-person observer collecting data for the evaluation of our protocol and conducting in-person meetings with potential participating sites when requested.
ResponsibilitiesThe Consultation Lead is responsible for but not limited to:
Responsibility 90%
Act as a critical leader on the team and work collaboratively with the Consultation and Research Coordinators.
Provide oversight of the ECMHC program, its protocol and collect data to be used by the research team to measure efficacy.
Learn, master and support the implementation of the BRIDGE model of ECMHC and its underlining mental health perspective, theory of change, consultative stance, standards of practice, assessments, as well as processes and procedures.
Ensuring compliance, accuracy, and quality of clinical documentation.
Consult with and support assigned clinicians in the efforts to serve clients.
Ensure the quality of work meets clinical, program, organizational, productivity, confidentiality, mandated reporting and HIPPA standards.
Other Duties and Responsibilities as assigned 10%
Attend meeting with Consultation Coordinator and Research Team when requested.
Act as point person for in-person meetings with participating school sites and/or potential participants wanting more information about the program.
Act as point person for tabling events within the community promoting consultation services as a resource.
Qualifications Knowledge and Abilities
Demonstrate understanding of early childhood mental health consultation as building the mental health capacities of teachers, staff, families and others who care for young children.
Ability to utilize the principles of the consultative stance in the oversight and implementation of the program.
Ability to exercise good judgment clinically, legally and ethically and willing to consult with supervisor as needed. Ability to make decisions and multi-task.
Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal
Two years of progressively responsible experience in technical or administrative assignements.
Ability to pass Department of Justice finger printing, background check, and up to date vaccinations for MMR, T-DaP, TB clearance
Preferred Qualifications
Completion of an accredited master’s level program in counseling, marriage and family therapy, or social work with a need to complete supervised professional experience to be licensed strongly preferred.
Bilingual in Spanish, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Arabic, Farsi, or another California threshold language strongly preferred.

Candidate must reside in California or live in a commutable distance from SDSU at time of hire.
